fight the flab: Hypoxi

fight the flab: Hypoxi

Flab, your days are numbered thanks to six treatments that have summer firmly in sight.

Problem: yoga’s not toning and tightening as hoped
What we tried: Hypoxi, $65 per session (with 12 sessions recommended), 1300 497 694. This is a fat-busting and
cellulite-smoothing bike-like contraption. Your lower half is sealed away in a pressurised chamber while you pedal for half an hour – the combination of a cupping-like vacuum treatment plus cardio exercise combine to stimulate circulation and thereby burn fat and toxins. Hypoxi’s theory is that women’s lower bodies suffer as a result
of poor circulation, which is why we find it so hard to fight fat in this area.
What we loved: Lying back and reading magazines while your lower body does all the work – it’s intense but manageable exercise.
What we didn’t: The no-carbs-for-four-to-six-hours-afterwards rule. Tricky to commit to.
Verdict: While I wasn’t so good about that no-carbs rule and did cheat a few times, my legs felt much lighter after two sessions and my skin looked noticeably smoother by session six. Highly recommended.
