fight the flab: BellaContour
Flab, your days are numbered thanks to six treatments that have summer firmly in sight.
Problem: Slack post-baby tummy that needs whipping into shape (Okay, so the babies are now teens.)
What we tried: BellaContour, a non-surgical medical procedure that helps reduce fat using ultrasound waves. Available at Lily Room Cosmetic Medical Clinic, 02 9904 7000. Cost: $250 to $400 per 40-minute treatment; a series of five to 10 treatments is recommended.
What we loved: This is relatively pain-free. The ultrasound system measures the depth and density of the fatty layer. Ultrasound waves are then directed at the fat to break it down to liquid, which the body can use as a source of energy.
What we didn’t: The intensity of the heat took a little getting used to, but soon became manageable.
Verdict: After just one treatment, I lost about 3cm from my tummy and, a day later, the texture of my skin was smoother. I’ll definitely be booking in for a series of sessions.
