Fashion wunderkind Dion Lee has taken out the prestigious Young Designer award at this year’s L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival.
Lee’s sculptural designs and deconstructed tailoring has garnered high praise from industry leaders, while his unique sartorial vision has made him a favourite with the fashion-forward everywhere. The award, which has been instrumental in launching the careers of Romance Was Born, Freidrich Gray and Toni Maticevski, will see Lee take a buying and networking trip to Florence or Paris, as well as receiving a cool $10, 000.

Festival director Karen Webster said choosing a between the high standard of nominees was a challenge, but Dion Lee's "standard of design, innovation and professionalism was exceptional...a real force to be reckoned with."

Dion Lee's designs are available online from My Catwalk or The New Guard. Visit www.dionlee.com for more information.
