Street style

Continuing along
Ann Street, we wandered into designer boutiques like
Blonde Venus, home to Arnsdorf, Dion Lee and House of Holland,
Nelson Molly - where dual-purpose pieces give you more bang for your buck (think skirts that double as dresses and reversible jackets) - and
Ultra Suite, a treasure trove of pretty evening wear.
Next stop: Emporium, a mecca of high-end stores located in
The Valley, as it’s known to locals (hey, when in Rome…). Here we made a beeline straight to
Jean Brown, an elegant boutique that stocks only the best labels: Chloé, Christian Louboutin, YSL, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Balenciaga – yes, please! We didn’t make any purchases here (my mother called this sensible; my fashion colleagues thought it silly) but that didn’t stop us from squealing with delight at all the pretty things. Sigh. It’s worth dropping by this store regularly as you can find some great deals on designer pieces – just ask Jess, my very stylish colleague who managed to nab
Miu Miu heels that are the envy of the office. Some girls have all the luck.
